Dr. Jan O. Gordeladze, PhD (born 25th of April, 1950), holds a triple professor competence (medical biochemistry, physiology, and pharmacology), and is presently working as a professor at the Department of Biochemistry, Institute of Basic Medical Science, University of Oslo, Norway. He has previously been employed as the medical director of MSD, Norway, serving two years as a Fulbright scholar at the NIH, Bethesda, Maryland, USA, and from 2006-2009 also being employed as associate professor at the University of Montpellier, France. He is a member of the Norwegian Stem Cell Center, and his research has over the past 7-10 years been devoted to differentiation of osteochondral cells from stem cells focusing on the impact of transcription factors and microRNA species constituting regulatory loop interactions with functional target genes. He has published more than 120 scientific articles, reviews/book chapters and presented more than 250 abstracts/posters/talks at conferences world wide. Dr. Gordeladze has served as a Fulbright Scholar at The National Institute of Health, Bethesda, Washington DC during the years 1990-91.

In terms of teaching, I am particularly interested in the concept of “Scholarly teaching”, as well as computer-based test and evaluation systems. My main academic interests are the development of cell phenotypes and the regulation of cell function and metabolism. Examples of such phenomena are cell engineering of bone and cartilage through the control of signaling pathways; the communication between cells through microRNA-containing exosomes; and the regulation of satiety and hunger and body weight influenced by hormones, metabolites and genetic predisposition.

Niels Tommerup is Professor of Medical Genetics at the University of Copenhagen since 1994. In 2001, he was funded by a prestigious grant from The Danish National Research Foundation (Grundforskningsfonden) to establish Wilhelm Johannsen Centre for Functional Genome Research, as a Centre-of-Excellence at the University of Copenhagen.

His research group focus on the use of rare chromosomal rearrangements in patients with genetic disorders to identify new links between genes and diseases, and between the functional 3D-organisation of the human genome and diseases. As part of this focus, he established in 2014 the International Breakpoint Mapping Consortium, with participation of more than 160 laboratories world-wide. He has been Board Member of both National and International genetic societies, including European member (1996-2006) and Chair (2001-2006) of the International Standing Committee on Human Cytogenetic Nomenclature (ISCN).

Professor Fakhoury, is a professor of Medical Biochemistry and the head of the Biochemistry and Molecular Medicine Department. She received her PhD in Medical Biochemistry from the college of Medicine at Manchester University. Her research interest is in the field of Genetic studies to find correlations between a disease and a genetic change where there is no obvious pattern of inheritance; And in the pharmacogenetic studies to determine if there is a genetic basis for certain adverse reactions to drugs. She has more than 30 publications in this field.

Her research interest is to find association between molecular biomarkers and chronic diseases.Her expertise in Cancer Research, Molecular Biology, Cell Biology.

Dr. Osama Mahmoud Azmy graduated from faculty of medicine, Cairo University in 1986 then obtained his membership from Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists in 1996 where He was granted the Fellowship level in 2008. He is the head of medical research division and general manager of medical research centre of excellence at the National Research Centre. Molecular and Regenerative medicine are his subspecialty of interest where he gained the clinical and scientific experience both, in Egypt and England by working at different and highly reputable hospitals and health centers. He participated in the successful setting up of cell free fetal DNA extraction from maternal plasma as a non-invasive tool for prenatal diagnosis. Over the last decade, he introduced the branch of regenerative medicine research activity where they used stem cells for both in vitro and in vivo research activities.

Dr. Prasad is a graduate of the University of Chicago Pritzker School of Medicine, where he was awarded the Chairman's Award in Internal Medicine. He is also a graduate of Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health and completed his undergraduate at Michigan State University, where he was commencement speaker for the College of Arts & Letters. Dr Prasad trained in general internal medicine at Northwestern University in Chicago, where he received the Gerald Grumet award for best resident teacher, and completed his fellowship in Hematology and Oncology in the joint program between National Cancer Institute, and National Heart, Lung and Blood Institute both at the US National Institutes of Health, where he served as Chief Fellow. While at the NIH, Dr. Prasad was also a Cancer Prevention Fellow.

Dr. Doaa Abdelmonsif is an assistant professor of Medical Biochemistry, Faculty of Medicine, Alexandria University, Egypt. She also works as the co-manager of the Molecular Biology Lab., Centre of Excellence for Regenerative Medicine Research& Applications (CERRMA), Alexandria University and a research associate of the Nanomedicine Lab., CERRMA. She completed her MD on pharmaco-genetic and epigenetic studies in breast cancer. Her research interest is in the fields of molecular biology, nanomedicine and cell therapy. She also serves as a reviewer for many peer-reviewed specialized journals and a member of molecular biology, oncology and nanomedicine societies.

Amr Amin completed his PhD at the University of Illinois at Chicago and received a post-doctoral training in the field of molecular genetics at the University of Pennsylvania School of Medicine. He started his academic career at UAE University where he serves now as a Full Professor of Cell and Molecular Biology. Amr’s research focuses on ways to control cancer, particularly liver cancer. He published many research articles and reviews and serves as a regular reviewer and as an editorial member of many specialized peer-reviewed journals. He is also a member of many specialized societies and the sole recipient of many national and international scientific awards.

Amr Amin research interests focus biology and chemoprevention of cancer, preclinical studies, and novel plant-based anticancer drugs.

Dr Adel GOURI has received PhD in Clinical Biochemistry in the University of Badji Mokhtar - Annaba during the period of 2005 -2009. He is currently working as Head of Laboratory of Medical Biochemistry in Ibn Zohr Public Hospital, Guelma. As associate lecturer in College of Medicine, Annaba. His research goals are : Cancer Biology and Research of new Biomarkers of cancers, Cardiovascular Biomarkers, Atherosclerosis and diabetes-related research, Biomarkers and Cardiovascular Diseases in Hemodialysis patients, Biomarkers in Early Diagnosis of Hematologic malignancies. Based on this research and training in cancer biology and cardiovascular biology he has received several awards and honors, and is serving one of the active members of the ; Diabetes and Cardiovascular Disease EASD Study Group, European Association for the Study of Diabetes (EASD), the Working Group on Myocardial Function, European Society of Cardiology (ESC), the Working Group on Atherosclerosis and Vascular Biology, European Society of Cardiology (ESC), the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) He has authored more than 20 research articles, 01 books/chapters. He is also chairman of the International Board of Biochemistry, Clinical Chemistry, Pathobiochemistry, and fellow of the World Academy of Medical Sciences (WAMS)
